Things That Are Weird: Asthma

Asthma is the weirdest thing. I have a very mild form of exercise/allergy induced asthma, and let me tell you, it's crazy. I can't imagine what it's like to have a worse form.

It's like your body just decides it doesn't want to breathe anymore.

Totally crazy right? Goes against every survival instinct.

"Let me just get clogged up and dump mucus into your lungs. We don't need those, we can survive without them! Oh wait..."

Exercise is healthy, good for you right?

"Oh no, exercise? Let me just totally rebel against this form of healthy living. It's abuse! You don't get to exercise. I'll stop you! There, you can't breathe! Hahahaha....!" *dies*

Similar reaction to the presence of allergens.

Maybe a little less dramatic. And it's a lot less funny. But no less ridiculous.

Hey, human body? Please don't do that. Keep breathing! Even if I decide to take a jog.

Things That Are Weird (part 1)

Hands

Hands are just strange. You may not think about it, but really, what are they? Like arm tentacles. Wiggly fingers (ahem, tentacles) splayed out from this strange flat part that sticks out off your wrist. And they grab stuff! How odd.

Just look at your hands. Wiggle your fingers. I mean, they're very handy, but....arm tentacles.

(This one is short- perhaps the other parts will gradually get longer)

Things That Are Weird (an explanation)

So I've been thinking a lot, and I've been sleepy. Never a good combo to be sure, but it came up with an idea for a sort of series. "Things That are Weird" but also normal. Everyday things that truly are kind of odd. I guess we'll see where it goes!

Things that Are Weird (part -1)

Lips are weird. They're these two strips of skin that are just a little darker than the rest. Kind of an odd shape too, especially the top one.

And yet they accomplish so much!

Think about it- these two pieces of odd-shaped, odd-colored flesh show so much of human emotion. Feeling tired? They open wide in a yawn. Happy? Smile! Annoyed? They thin and tense.

In love? Kisses.

Kisses are weird.

Such small and insignificant things, lips, yet they do so much. Isn't it funny how the smallest things have the biggest effects?
