Sunday Series: Light of Christ

"Wherefore, I would speak unto you that are of the church, that are the peaceable followers of Christ, and that have obtained a sufficient hope by which ye can enter into the rest of the Lord, from this time henceforth until ye shall rest with him in heaven." (Moroni 7:3)

In Sunday School today, we were talking about the Atonement and the light of Christ, and someone mentioned that perhaps the Atonement is the source of the light of Christ. How they are connected is what this post is about.

What if, he said, the light of Christ is an expression of our knowledge of what Christ did for us? Even if it's not something we consciously know. Our heart knows, and our brain knows. And the light of that knowledge shines out through us. 

This seems like it could be true. After all, everyone is born with the light of Christ, and it can be amplified through righteousness. 

So the light of Christ could truly be a rejoicing of our souls because they know they can be saved. What a wonderful thought, don't you think?
