And possibly not "true love"
At least not like the movies
With someone destined from above
But I do believe in effort
And in compatibility
I believe in the loves we choose
Not hokey-pokey destiny
I don't believe in "meant to be"
But I do believe in "find a way"
I believe you choose who you're with
And you work to keep them every day
I guess that what I'm saying is
No one is "meant to be"
Because if everything is predetermined
No one is truly free
But isn't it more beautiful?
That we get to choose our love?
It makes it much more special
Than some mandate from above
I don't believe in finding "the One"
That is mine without any strife
But I do believe in finding one
To be with all my life
